Share to XThe Jacaranda painting I did for the Tree Workshop was accepted as a finalist for the Brisbane Rotary Art Show. Yesterday, I attended the pre-opening ceremony for artists and sponsors with my eldest daughter Elora. Elora has been showing a keen interest in art and I wanted to show her that artists are celebrated and are important, and that one day she could have her work on the wall.
It was a great experience. There are so many talented artists out there! There was a mix of established names and many up-and-comers, which was good to see. I’ll try to get in touch with a few of my favorites from the show to feature their work on the website.
It was also good to see such a show of support and appreciation of art. Our community isn’t massive, but it is strong and passionate!
This is the first exhibition I have joined in many years. The last time was the same exhibition back in 2017. My dad sent me this photo from back then.
I’ll be doing more of these events going forward. Not for the competition aspect, but just to be more deeply involved in the art community.
